    An almost perfect garage stand for many racks

    This was a gamble I made to find a garage stand for holding my Thule XT 4 bike rack for storing my bikes in the winter in my garage. I have been nothing but impressed by the product and company.

    The price was really reasonable and shipping fast. I was impressed by the weight and build quality of the rack when I opened it. Assembly was easy and quick. The receiver design was also very well thought out. It accepted my Thule rack with no issues and is totally stable holding 4 bikes horizontally!

    Given how happy I’ve been with this purchase I’m now looking at some of JB’s vertical bike racks for use on my RV camper. The Thule is a no-go for that application given how far it sticks out the back of the trailer.

    My only single suggestion is that the stand offer holes in the receiver for taking the rack on one side with a counterweight on the other side. While my bikes are quite light and don’t need a counter weight, I could see some all mountain MTBs or fat tire bikes overwhelming the stand balance-wise without a counterweight. Of course, this is only for my application with a Thule XT 4 bike rack, with a JB vertical bike rack it would likely never be an issue. Oh, one more minor suggestion, they should include torque specs on the bolts used to assemble the rack. I over-tightened one of them and slightly bowed the frame on the wheel end. Not a deal breaker, but if I had had torque specs I would have avoided that issue.

    Bikes sit nicely and roll around on this sturdy stand.
